People and Places

Here's some shots from a recent shoot in Lando and around Rock Hill. Some of these were shot in color but later desaturated b/c they just looked better in b&w.

  1. Nice Job, Jake.
I like the American flag in the family's window.

  2. Thanks! they were hesitant at first but finally came around. I was lucky enough to have good natural lighting.

  3. I've talked to a few others about these two images (of the family) and i've been told they are a bit too romantic. Maybe I should've gotten closer to the subjects but I felt it would've been a shame to miss all of the detail in the house. I guess it's an argument of wether the people or the environment are more intriguing.

  4. I think that its effective for the house siding and flag to be there. Also, the shadows of the tree branches on the house siding add terrific detail as well as a mid gray to help in balancing the white and dark tones.

  5. I think you have set up a nice distance between the subjects and the camera. The detail on the house is wonderful.
