Here's some shots from a recent shoot in Lando and around Rock Hill. Some of these were shot in color but later desaturated b/c they just looked better in b&w.
I've talked to a few others about these two images (of the family) and i've been told they are a bit too romantic. Maybe I should've gotten closer to the subjects but I felt it would've been a shame to miss all of the detail in the house. I guess it's an argument of wether the people or the environment are more intriguing.
I think that its effective for the house siding and flag to be there. Also, the shadows of the tree branches on the house siding add terrific detail as well as a mid gray to help in balancing the white and dark tones.
Nice Job, Jake.
ReplyDeleteI like the American flag in the family's window.
Thanks! they were hesitant at first but finally came around. I was lucky enough to have good natural lighting.

ReplyDeleteI think you have set up a nice distance between the subjects and the camera. The detail on the house is wonderful.
